Dry skin
<What are the characteristics of dry skin?>
Dry skin combines feelings of tightness with a greater or lesser degree of cutaneous dryness.
There are several different types of dryness:
• Temporary or permanent dryness caused by external elements: climatic conditions (dry cold, wind, sudden climate changes), cosmetics (frequent washing with detergent hygiene products, harsh or drying cosmetics).
• Dryness linked to medicines being taken locally (anti-acne or anti-ageing treatment) or orally (anti-acne or anti-cholesterol treatment ...).
• Permanent dryness linked to natural cutaneous ageing. The skin becomes dull and rough. The epidermis becomes thinner as the cellular renewal process slows down, and the corneal layer thickens.
