Hair and scalp
<What is the hair's life cycle?>
The hair renews itself in 2 to 6 year cycles that are broken down into 3 phases:
• The growth (or anagenic) phase which lasts for 2 to 6 years, during which the hair grows 1 or <st1:metricconverter productid="2 cm">2 cm</st1:metricconverter> a month.
• The transitional (or catagenic) phase, which corresponds to a resting phase of 2 to 3 weeks: activity stops and the hair no longer grows.
• The falling (or telogenic) phase which lasts for 2 to 4 months and ends the hair cycle by the hair falling out. At the same time, a new bud appears that then forms a new hair shaft.
During its life, each follicle is capable of reproducing around twenty cycles.
