Hair and scalp
<What is the reason for the presence of dandruff on your scalp?>
Dandruff is due to the abnormal proliferation, on the scalp, of a micro-organism from the Malassezia family. This phenomenon leads to the excessively quick renewal of the epidermal cells that appear on the scalp in clumps, where they form dry or oily dandruff of varying size. Sometimes accompanied by slight itching, this dandruff is visible in the hair and most of the time it falls onto the collar and shoulders, especially when the hair is combed.
Fatigue, stress and pollution are all factors that can contribute to or increase the proliferation of Malassezia furfur and the subsequent appearance of dandruff.
