Transitional rednesses
Transitional rednesses are characterized by the presence of rednesses, called "Flushes", which appear by pushes and in a temporary way; they can last only a few minutes or hours.
Transitional rednesses can be caused by an abrupt rise in the ambient temperature, by an unprotected exposure to the sun or an unadapted sun protection, by an emotional stress, an ingestion of alcoholic drinks or food or warm or spicy liquids. Permanent rednesses: couperosis (or erythro-couperosis)
A dilation of superficial capillaries is translated by a transitional redness or a permanent redness (erythro-coupeoris) on the surface of the skin. Sensitive skin shows diffuse or located rednesses. The repetition of this phenomenon in the time stresses the dilation of capillaries and their embrittlement, up to a stage of no return to the normal state. Then capillaries remain dilated. We observe 2 symptoms related to erythro-couperosis:
- The installation of permanent rednesses : the erythrose
- The appearance of small red or purplish capillaries, also called couperosis
The passage from transitional rednesses to permanent rednesses (erythro-couperosis) only occurs to more predisposed subjects (fair woman with a fair skin). Permanent rednesses related to couperosis (or erythro-couperosis) can evolve, in rare cases, towards more consequent skin problems requiring a dermatological follow-up.
